#hashtagthisweek with Turquoise Avenue!

I am so super excited to bring #hashtagthisweek to you guys.  A few weeks ago Mandy asked if I would help her bring this weeks theme to life and of course I said yes.  I am going to share a little blurb from her blog to help describe it because the way she said it makes more sense than anything I could think up.

"#ThisWeek | A weekly photo & story prompt for memory keepers originated by Mandy Elliott of Turquoise Avenue designed to encourage others to take a photograph and spend time creating a story based on the weekly theme. Together, in collaboration with other talented creatives, #ThisWeek is a free, fun, and inspiring challenge allowing you to join in any time, any way that best fits your schedule. Play along by sharing on social media under #hashtagthisweek or by linking up via TurquoiseAve.com." - via Turquoise Ave

Fun, right?

The theme this time is "our backyard".  I made a page for this week but the rest of my photos and more information about this week is over on her BLOG.

blog hop | clique kits

Hi everyone and welcome to my creative space!  Today I have my last layout created with the Clique Kits June kit.  This one is super simple!  It was actually a lift of one of my own digital layouts (HERE).  I loved the vertical layout of the page AND I really really wanted to use the vinyl tag in a way that it would stand out.  I have to say that this kit with all the pieces from Crate's Journey collection has been a fave to work with.  The gold and the colors are just perfect.

this is the life | page maps layout

I cannot believe I forgot to share this here!  Last month the Pink Paislee crew was asked to help make samples with the June Page Maps.  Honestly, this was the first time I tried creating with a page maps sketch.  It was so much fun!!!!

Also, I used a patterned cardstock for my background.  That NEVER happens.  I loved this striped paper from Pink Paislee's Atlas collection though and just had to use it.

Let's Go | Clique Kits June Challenge Layout

Wow.  It's been a while since I have posted here.  Life has really been a bit crazy.
Today I have a page I made as a guest designer for Clique Kits.  This one is for the June "anything goes" challenge on their blog.

the layout:

I just loved this kit from the moment I got it in the mail.  I had and still have so many layouts planned with it.  The colors, patterns and bits of gold are perfect for my summer photos from a last year.
For this page I wanted to keep things simple (like most of the time) and really focus on this adorable shot of my little girl.  Keeping things in a line across the page and strategically scattering the fabulous elements helped with that.  Of course I had to use the gorgeous gold alpha (my minds eye) and add a little of my lettering.   Adding a little stitching to a few spots just made the whole page for me.
